By City Airport Train (CAT)
City Airport Train (CAT) offers the fastest way from airport to downtown Vienna (Wien Mitte, connections to U3, U4) in 16 minutes, and runs every 30 minutes. By Bus
Vienna Airport Lines has two routes:
VAL1 – Vienna Airport – Vienna Main Station (South, connection to U1) – Vienna Westbahnhof Station (Europaplatz/connection to U3, U6) in 40 minutes.
VAL 3 – Vienna Airport – Donauzentrum (Connection to U1) in 39 - 42 minutes
Tickets can be purchased online, directly from the bus driver or from the ticket machines of Vienna Airport Lines at Vienna Airport or Vienna Westbahnhof station.
By ÖBB Railjet
The Railjets runs every half hour from Vienna Airport to Vienna Main Station (U1) in 15 minutes, or to Wien Meidling station (U6) in around 30 minutes. By Subway
There are 5 lines – U1, U2, U3, U4 and U6 for the subway system. It runs from 5.00am to midnight and operates 24 hours a day on Friday and Saturday. This is the quickest, simplest and most convenient way of getting around Vienna. You can choose from the different ticket types or travel card (Vienna City Card).
By Tram and Bus
Vienna’s tram network is the sixth largest in the world. It has 28 tram lines and 131 bus lines to serve all areas of Vienna. The integrated fare system means that tickets and travel cards can be used on the subways, trams and buses of Vienna Transport Authority.
By Taxi

Most days of the year the weather in Vienna is quite friendly and moderate. The best weather is from mid-June to early September. Average temperatures during this period: Maximum: 26ºC / 80ºF Minimum: 11ºC / 52ºF
The currency used in Vienna is the Euro (€). The Euro replaced the Schilling on January 1, 2002.
Banks are open from Monday to Friday from 8.00 to 12.30, and from 1.30pm to 3.00pm, and until 5.30pm on Thursdays. To exchange money, it is better to do it at a bank as foreign exchange booths sometimes charge high fees. In fact, it is better to have the travelers checks in Euros.
Tipping is traditionally given to many service areas, such as restaurants and taxis. It is normally 5% to 10% depending on the level of satisfaction with the service provided.
The official language in Austria is German, but most people in Austria understand and speak English. Major attractions, hotels, and restaurants often have English spoken staff as well as bilingual signage (German and English).
It is recommended to apply as early as possible for a Visa as the application process can be time-consuming. Visa regulations depend on your nationality and country of origin.
Currently, EU citizens as well as visitors from Australia, Canada, Japan, New Zealand, Switzerland, the USA and some other countries do not need a visa to enter Austria. Regulations, however, are subject to change. It is therefore recommended that you check whether you require a visa.

An official Letter of Invitation to obtain a Visa and authorization to attend the IASLC 2022 World Conference on Lung Cancer (WCLC 2022) will be issued ONLY after registration has been completed and full payment received by the Conference Secretariat.
Processing times for visa applications vary depending on the visa office and the time of the year. Participants are encouraged to apply approximately 12 weeks in advance of their departure date to ensure they receive the visa in time.
